About this Event

Join Coach Hélène from The Coolest Journey for a free community ocean outing at Kitsilano Beach, Sat May 2, 8 AM. These outings are meant to be a venue for all levels - some of us swim, some of us dip. And many of us socialize too, as fostering a sense of community is the second reason why Coach Hélène offers these outings!

Please register so we can notify you if the event must be cancelled due to sewer overflow. Otherwise, we swim — rain, snow, or shine!

Whether you’re a seasoned cold-water swimmer or simply curious about trying your first ocean dip, this invigorating outing will leave you feeling alive, clear-headed, and ready to embrace the month of February. Bring your towel, warm layers, a ceramic mug for hot tea afterward, and your sense of humour! ❄️🔥

What to Expect
When

The first Saturday of each month

Where

Meet at the Boathouse at Kits Beach at 8:00 AM

What

We head into the water around 8:15–8:20 AM, after sharing a few wise words on pre- and post-dip tips—and usually right after a brief moment of gratitude.

During the Dip

Beginners typically start with a 2–3 minute immersion, gradually increasing their comfort and tolerance over the weeks and months. If you’re planning to dunk your head, please protect your ears by wearing earplugs.

Intermediate and advanced pod members enjoy the water in whatever way feels good to them: dipping, floating, snorkeling, swimming, water running, wave jumping, even handstanding. There’s room for every style of cold-water joy.

After the Dip

Once everyone has enjoyed the water in their own way, we gather for piping-hot fresh ginger tea (bring your ceramic mug—it warms both hands and heart!), good conversation, and plenty of laughter.

After your first ocean outing, you’ll be added to The Coolest Journey email list so you can stay in the loop and keep the cool energy flowing.

If you’re looking for a low-pressure, easy-going pod that blends the joy of cold water with fun, community, and shared laughter—come join us!

About The Coolest Journey

Coach Hélène launched The Coolest Journey in 2025 with the goal of significantly improving the lives of 10,000 people by 2035—helping them break the cycle of physical pain, reignite their inner fire, and reclaim their lives and dreams. These free ocean outings are a way to make it easier for everyone to try and embrace cold water exposure (safe and supportive environment provided), as well as to foster a sense of community amongst cold water lovers.
