Event Information
These workshops are held at Wooden Roots HQ in Rendlesham, Suffolk. Doors open 30 minutes before the session, so you’re welcome to arrive early, explore our drum shop, and settle in.

About the Workshop
Led by Marcus Brown, founder of Wooden Roots, this workshop is ideal for individuals and families alike. This is a welcoming opportunity to experience West African drumming in a fun, supportive environment and best of all, no musical experience is required to enjoy the benefits of drumming.
Designed to be energising, uplifting and accessible, each participant will be provided with a drum to play, along with a hot beverage refreshment to enjoy. Marcus will guide you through simple, enjoyable drumming techniques, dividing the group into sections that each play different rhythms. These rhythms come together to create a powerful, shared sound, giving everyone a sense of connection and collective achievement.
Group drumming is not only exciting, it also offers recognised wellbeing benefits. Many participants report feeling less stressed, more energised and deeply connected, leaving the session refreshed, grounded and inspired.
