Ready for an unforgettable day on the water? Join the amazing team from the Sir Peter Blake Marine Education and Recreation Centre (MERC) and choose from Kayaking, Giant Stand-Up Paddleboarding, or why not try both!
Whether you're a first-timer or already love being out on the water, these fun and supportive sessions are a fantastic way to build confidence, learn new skills, and explore the local coastline with experienced instructors.
🎟️ Bookings Essential
Registrations open two weeks before the event and places fill quickly.
Each activity runs in 1-hour sessions, and all participants must book their spot in advance. You can register for:
Kayaking
Giant Stand-Up Paddleboarding
Or both activities (subject to availability)
Numbers are limited for every session, so be sure to secure your place early.
🦺 Safety & Equipment
MERC will provide all equipment and safety gear, including compulsory life jackets. A limited number of optional wetsuits will also be available for those who would like one.
All participants (or their parent/guardian) will need to complete a risk disclosure form before taking part.
👨👩👧👦 Age & Supervision
Children aged 4 years and over are welcome to participate.
Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, who must take part in the activity and remain with them at all times while on the water.
A limited number of smaller life jackets are available. However, some younger children may be too small for the extra-small sizes provided. If your child has their own well-fitting life jacket, you are welcome to bring it along. The MERC team will check that it is suitable for use before the session begins.
