This month, our Friday Art Talks become Art Walks. Join Gallery staff and special guests as they lead walking conversations of the National Collection, landscapes and stories across the Gallery’s indoor and outdoor spaces. Celebrating the arrival of spring and part of Floriade About Town 2026, Friday Art Walks invite you to experience art and nature together, discovering the collection one step at a time.Join Associate Curator, First Nations Art, Adam Ford and Curator, Australian Prints and Drawings, Elisa deCourcy, for a unique walk-through of major recent and historic acquisitions made through the Australia Pacific Gordon Darling Print Fund.
This Art Walk explores how contemporary First Nations and Australian printmakers represent the intricacies and rhythms of the natural world through its minutiae.
Drawing on the works of Waayni artist, Judy Watson, Ngadjon-jii/Mamu artist Danie Mellor, Badjata arist, Fiona Foley, John Wolseley and Fiona Hall, Adam and Elisa consider the unique material nature of print in presenting layered narratives of Country and place. Together, they unpack the fine details and long stories held in lithographs, mezzotints, etchings and engravings on display in Gallery 24.
