About this Event
Join us for a free Digital Safeguarding Briefing for professionals working with children and young people. This engaging and informative session will provide valuable insight into the online world that young people experience every day and help professionals better understand the risks, challenges, and opportunities presented by digital spaces.
Taking place on Monday 7th December from 1:00pm to 3:30pm at Whaddon Youth Hub, Dart Road, Cheltenham (GL52 5QW), the briefing will explore how young people interact with the internet, social media, gaming platforms, and online communities. Participants will gain a greater understanding of current safeguarding concerns and the impact these can have on young people's wellbeing and development.
The session will cover important topics including online grooming, exposure to pornography, misogyny, gaming culture, and the influence of digital platforms. There will also be a focus on the specific vulnerabilities that autistic and SEND young people may face online, along with practical guidance on how professionals can structure effective and supportive conversations about online safety.
Delivered by Ten Foot Training in partnership with The Children's Society, this briefing is an excellent opportunity for youth workers, teachers, safeguarding leads, social workers, and other professionals to strengthen their knowledge and confidence in responding to digital safeguarding issues.
