About this Event
All children deserve the right to know how to read. Bed-Stuy Kids Can Read!
Join Bed Stuy Kids and Preschool of Business, in partnership with Brooklyn Public Library, for Bricks in the Road: a FREE party for kids under 5 years old and their grown-ups.
Penguin's lesson is teamwork, and Block's is that sounds only make words together.
FOR KIDS (under 5):
- Build-a-Word Road: snap sound bricks together to read c-a-t, b-u-s, s-t-o-p
- - Penguin's Crossing Guard game: stop, look, listen, go!
- - Picture-book storytime
- - Coloring station with Crayon
- - Free food and a free coloring book for every registered kid
FOR GROWN-UPS:
A free workshop from Brooklyn Public Library's early literacy team: why reading, talking, singing, writing and playing with your child every day matters, plus screen time tips for young children. Ask the library team about a free library card for your kid!
Every preschooler is welcome, whether or not they go to our school. Please register EACH child so there's a plate and a coloring book with their name on it. You'll get reminders and a check-in link before the party.
