How Registration Works
Registering on Eventbrite is an application to participate and does not guarantee admission.
To make sure every participant has someone to meet during each dating round, we must have an even number of male and female participants.
On September 15, registered applicants will be contacted to confirm whether they have been selected to participate. Because attendance is limited and we must maintain balanced participation, not everyone who registers is guaranteed a spot.
If you are not selected for this event, we encourage you to apply again for our next Autism Speed Dating event!
Please do not attend unless you receive confirmation that you have been selected.
💕 How Speed Dating Works
When you arrive, you'll check in, show your photo ID, and receive your participant card and event instructions.
Participants will be seated across from one another for a series of short, one-on-one dates. Each date will last approximately 5–7 minutes.
When the timer sounds, men will rotate to the next table while the females remains seated.
You'll continue rotating until you've had the opportunity to meet each eligible participant. Conversation prompt cards will be available if you need a little help getting the conversation started. After each date, you'll privately indicate on your participant card whether you would be interested in connecting with that person again. You will give your completed card to the host.
💌 It's a Match!
At the end of the event, our team will review everyone's selections. Contact information will only be shared when BOTH people indicate that they would like to connect again. If the interest isn't mutual, no personal contact information will be shared.
💙 Event Rules
To keep Autism Speed Dating comfortable, respectful, and safe for everyone:
- You must be 19 years of age or older. A valid government-issued photo ID is required at check-in.
Only confirmed participants may attend. - An Eventbrite registration alone does not guarantee admission.
- Come dressed to impress! Please arrive clean, well-groomed, and dressed appropriately for a date.
- Be respectful. Kindness and appropriate language are expected at all times. Respect personal boundaries.
- Do not touch another participant without their permission. No sexual or inappropriate comments or behavior.
- Do not pressure anyone for their phone number, social media, address, or other personal information. Let our matching process handle the exchange of contact information. A "no" must always be respected. No participant is required to match, communicate with, or continue dating anyone they meet.
- Stay for the entire event. Leaving early can disrupt the speed-dating rotations for everyone.
- Follow staff instructions and rotation times. When the timer sounds, please move to your assigned next date.
- Disruptive, threatening, aggressive, or inappropriate behavior will result in immediate removal from the event. Participation does not guarantee a match.
The goal is to have fun, practice meeting new people, and see whether a connection develops naturally.
🌟 What to Expect
Speed dating can feel exciting—and maybe a little nerve-racking! That's completely normal. Our structured format takes some of the pressure out of meeting new people by giving everyone a chance to introduce themselves and have a short conversation.
You don't need the perfect opening line. Just bring your personality, be respectful, and be yourself.
