Author of Thank You For Calling the Lesbian Line Elizabeth Lovatt is joined by authors E.S McLeod, Chloe Michelle Howarth and Kiran Millwood Hargrave on a panel that celebrates lesbian voies in literature.
Elizabeth Lovatt (she/her) is a writer of fiction and creative non-fiction currently living in London. Her first book Thank You For Calling the Lesbian Line was published by Dialogue Books in 2025 and was shortlisted for The Gordon Burn Prize 2026 and the 2026 Lambda Literary Awards for LGBTQ+ Non-Fiction. In 2019 she was a writer-in-residence for Islington Pride and the ruckus! archive. In November 2020 she was accepted onto Penguin Books’ #WriteNow mentorship scheme and has an MA in Creative and Critical Writing from Birkbeck. Her dissertation was award the Lynne Segal BiGS Prize in Gender and Sexuality.
E.S McLeod (she/her) is an author and podcaster. She has written two YA novels under the name Ella McLeod: Rapunzella, Or, Don’t Touch My Hair is a retelling of the Rapunzel story that explores themes of race, gender and coming of age. It was nominated for the prestigious Branford Boase Award and received rave reviews in Kirkus, The Irish Times, and The Guardian. Her second novelThe Map That Led to You is a romance which interweaves pirate and Caribbean mermaid mythology, and was a Guardian Best Books Pick. Ella graduated first in class in English Literature with Theatre at Warwick University and also hosts the podcast Comfort Creatures. Her first adult novel Andromeda was published in May.
Kiran Millwood Hargrave (she/her) is a multi-award-winning, internationally bestselling novelist. She is the author of instant Sunday Times bestseller The Mercies, which was a Richard and Judy Book Club Pick, won a Betty Trask Award, and was named an NYT Best Book of the Year, and The Dance Tree, which was shortlisted for the HWA Gold Crown Award, and picked for the BBC Two Between the Covers Book Club. Her bestselling works for children are published in over thirty languages. Kiran's most recent novel Almost Life, published in March, is a propulsive and poetic exploration of sapphic yearning.
Chloe Michelle Howarth (she/her) is an Irish writer, whose work is inspired by her love of Irish culture, landsapes and characters. Her debut novel, Sunburn, was shortlisted for inaugural Nero Book Awards in the Debut Fiction category; shorlisted at the British Book Awards in the Discover category, and shortlisted for the Polari First Book Prize. Chloe's second novel, Heap Earth Upon It, was published by Verve in 2025, with a third novel, Aftertaste, forthcoming and expected in 2027.
