Team, Usually we have a vote for where we are headed for the bar tour. But this month I am very busy with travel and there's a fun opportunity coming up. So we're going to take in some excellent pizza and high school football.
430 - 500: The Junction, 225 S. Canal (Near West Side). Meet up here for a road (well, rail) beer before we hop on the train to Ashburn. We will take the 512, get off at 540, and take a ride share over to
545-615: Vito & Nick's, 8433 S. Pulaski (Ashburn). Grab a (very quick) drink at the bar as we pick up our pizzas and ride down the street to
625 - 930: Brother Rice High School, 10001 S. Pulaski (Mount Greenwood). This is The Reason For The Season! Four of the top ten recruits in the state of Illinois will be here. Some of them are committed to Notre Dame, and some to Michigan. It will be a fantastic way to take in the HS stars of today and college stars of tomorrow. After the game we will ride one neighborhood over to:
1000 - 1045: O'Rourke's Office, 11064 S. Western Ave. (Morgan Park). We're mixing it up from our usual Beverly stop at Cork and Kerry for a trip to this other mainstay of the Irish south side. We'll grab a nightcap or two, then walk on over to the 111th Street station to take the Rock Island Line (A Mighty Fine Line) home.
