This November, Fort Greene sister stores Greenlight Bookstore and Yours Truly, Brooklyn are coming together for a delicious night of fun (and the soft-launch of our new cookbook club) with a special Friendsgiving dinner!
We're pulling recipes from Shay Spence's new cookbook Meals You Can't Mess Up: 100+ Actually Easy Recipes for Big Flavor with Little Effort! All of the recipes in this book have fewer than ten ingredients, and most can be cooked in just one pot! Each recipe falls into at least one of these categories:
- 30-ish Minute Recipes Chili-Lime Corn & Black Bean Tacos, Burst Tomato-Basil Tortellini with Burrata
- 6-Ingredient (or Less) Recipes Lamb Chops with Feta & Mint Orzo Salad, Cheesy Butternut Squash Pasta Bake
- One-Dish Recipes Ratatouille with Baked Brie, Beer Cheese Broccoli Orzo Soup
- No-Chop Recipes Cheater’s Chicken Parm, Cubano Dogs
The perfect way to break the ice in the kitchen for the holiday season! Come try out some recipes you know, or make something new you might love. Invite your friends, your situationship, or someone you've been meaning to hang out with lately. All are welcome—no prior knowledge or cooking skill required!

Please note: Recipes will be assigned and sent in advance, based on your replies to our attendee order form, which can be found after checkout. Filling out the form is required to participate and a prepared dish (even if it's imperfect) is required for entry.
