As part of the Food & Drink Studio’s "Food & The Arts" summer season, join us for an immersive still life masterclass led by photographer Kenneth Lam. Based between London and Hong Kong, Kenneth is known for his creative approach to still life, food and portraiture, with work spanning editorial, commercial and personal projects. His images draw influence from art history while remaining firmly contemporary.
This relaxed, hands-on evening will explore the enduring relationship between food, art and photography — from classical still life painting to modern food imagery.
Guests will be welcomed with drinks and grazing boards before Kenneth guides the room through the history of food still life with visual references, setting the scene for the interactive session that will follow.
The evening will then move from discussion to practice, as guests work in small teams to create their own food still life from the selection of ingredients and props provided. Each composition will be photographed under studio lighting, with Kenneth offering live feedback and insight into styling, form and storytelling. The event will conclude with the group selecting which still life they'd like to sketch.
