About this Event
In this fun workshop, we’ll explore the delights of using food as a craft device in our writing. Engaging all the senses, food can encompass ancestry, sensuality, ethnicity, partnerships, travel, personality, you name it. When included in creative nonfiction or fiction stories, food can become metaphor, mood, structure, plot, or even its own character.
If I asked you what desserts you serve at special occasions or holidays, everyone would have a different answer and a different reason---nourishment, survival, tradition, mouthfeel, aesthetics---the possibilities are endless. Just like recipes, just like stories.
In this season of the harvest, let’s mine the sweet and the savory to dish out our best writing.
