Pitch in to help care for our newly planted areas by the creek. With daylight saving bringing lighter evenings - we’re holding an early evening weekday maintenance session. Together, we’ll tackle the spread of exotic weeds by hand-weeding around our recently planted native grasses and flowers, giving them the best chance to thrive.
We’re delighted to have Claire Weekley from Friends of Merri Creek joining us to help identify which plants are weeds and guide us on what to remove and what to leave.
What to bring:
• Your own gardening gloves
• Closed-toe shoes
• Long-sleeved top and long pants
Everyone is welcome! Come along, lend a hand and help our creekside habitat flourish. 🌱
Date: Monday November 9, 5-6.30 pm.
Meeting point: we’ll be weeding the newly planted beds of indigenous grasses and flowers, just south of the Woolton Parade entrance. Meet on Bracken Creek. Closest access via the western end of Woolton Ave, Thornbury and then head south along the walking track. Here's the Google maps pin: https://maps.app.goo.gl/T9fL2VXAJ1Fdgr3u9
