FNC X MOMENTA: ALI CHERRI 🎬
For this second edition, FNC x MOMENTA are joining forces to create a joint program highlighting their shared identities. Conceived as a micro-festival, this year’s FNC x MOMENTA takes place over two days, featuring screenings, discussions, and opportunities for exchange centered on the artistic and cinematic practices of Ali Cherri.
A Lebanese artist and filmmaker, Cherri’s cinematic practice explores the connections between archaeology, memory, and political trauma. Through poetic narratives that straddle the line between reality and fiction, he uses landscapes and objects to examine the invisible traces of history.
On Friday, October 9, there will be a screening of a program of three short films (The Digger, The Watchmen, The Sentinel) that explore the recurring figure of the guard; as well as the waiting, the surveillance, and the exhaustion of the bodies assigned to watch. The screening will be followed by an in-depth discussion with Ali Cherri.
