Join us for our Monthly Poetry series, an afternoon of poetic readings. Featured poets will each read for 20 minutes, followed by a short break to sign books, then an open mic. Please sign up by 2:30 pm, and limit your reading to one poem, one page. Hope to see you there!Mark Caskie was born in Richmond, Virginia, and earned his MFA at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He ended up staying in Greensboro, where he still lives. He has published poetry in numerous literary journals including Connecticut River Review, Story South, and Split Rock Review. Runner-up for the 2025 Grayson Books Poetry Prize, Field Notes for Extinction is his debut collection. Contest judge Alberto Rios wrote the following about the book: "Field Notes for Extinction is a work of rare equilibrium—lucid, tender, and unflinching. These poems trace the vanishing world with the calm precision of a scientist and the reverence of a pilgrim. ... Each poem feels both intimate and vast, grounded in observation yet alert to wonder."
