You've had a few glances, and seen some sneak peeks. It’s time for you to come see it yourself! The Florida Panhandle Marine Institute (FPMI) will be hosting a groundbreaking celebration on our new site! Everyone is invited to attend this free event, and we’d love to have you! On Saturday, October 17th from 1:00 to 4:00pm, come join us in starting our new chapter! The official shovel groundbreaking ceremony with and address from our board of directors will take place at 2 pm, with the fun and festivities continuing afterwards.
There will be informational booths about FPMI, including our future plans for the new rehabilitation site, educational tools about the marine species we work with, and FPMI merchandise for sale. But, that’s not all!
We’re going to have some amazing vendors and partners set up to help us keep the ball rolling during our celebration! These will include:
Food Trucks
- Coastal Sugar Rush 🥤
- 850 Grind ☕️
- Last Call Eats 🍔
Educational Booth with Local Conservation and Community Partners
- Panama City Beach Turtle Watch
- Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission Sea Turtle Biologists
- E.O. Wilson Biophilia Center
- Bay County Fire Rescue and Lifeguards
- Man in the Sea Museum
- Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance
- and Many More!
What else? A silent auction with goodies and opportunities from our supporters all over the region! All proceeds will contribute directly to the rebuild of our rehabilitation facilities.
Stayed tuned for more updates on partners, silent auction items, and what to expect. But to see it all, you'll have to join us! We hope to see you there!
