Join us for The Art of Cello, an interactive evening of music, art and community as part of 11:Eleven gallery’s First Fridays series.
Led by Elise Sharp of The String Queens, the evening invites you inside a live cello lesson with Lawrence Davin, offering an up-close look at the scales, technique and musicianship behind the instrument before experiencing it in performance.
But you won’t simply be watching. Audience participation is part of the experience, with opportunities to explore rhythm, humming and other interactive activities alongside Elise and Lawrence. Whether you know your way around a cello or love music, no musical experience is required.
The evening is also your final chance to experience Greener Grass, the solo exhibition by DC artist Heather Jones, alongside a selection of works by Haitian artist Charles Jean Pierre.
