Join us at the Vernon Community Arts Centre on Friday, November 6, from 11 am to 3 pm for First Friday, featuring local artist David J. Lilly.David is a self-taught goldsmith and stained-glass artist whose jewellery is inspired by Brutalist and Mid-century Modern design. Despite being discouraged from pursuing a creative career because of his colour-blindness, he went on to develop a distinctive practice working with precious, semi-precious, and non-precious materials. His jewellery has since been exhibited internationally.
Stop in to see David demonstrate his jewellery-making process and learn more about his unique approach to working with metal and other materials.
First Friday is a free monthly art trail throughout Greater Vernon, offering a chance to visit studios, galleries, and creative spaces and discover what local artists are making.
