COME HUNGRY. LEAVE ENCOURAGED.Your first Wednesday-night meal is on us!
Some of life’s most meaningful conversations begin around a table.
They begin when someone smiles and says, “Come sit with us.”
They grow through good food, shared laughter, honest prayer, and the comforting discovery that none of us were created to walk through life alone.
You and your family are invited to MDWK at FA Memphis!
Join us every Wednesday evening for an affordable family meal, meaningful friendships, encouraging Bible groups, children’s ministries, youth activities, prayer, worship, and opportunities for every generation to grow closer to God.
NEW VISITORS EAT FREE!
Yes, you read that correctly.
When you visit FA Memphis for the first time, your Wednesday-night meal is completely free.
There is no complicated registration.
There is no membership requirement.
There is no pressure.
Simply come, let us know that you are visiting, and allow our Connection Team to welcome you to the table.
For everyone else, dinner is only:

MORE THAN A MEAL
The food brings us to the table, but the relationships are what make Wednesday nights special.
MDWK is an opportunity to pause the rush of the week, put down the phone, breathe, laugh, worship, pray, and reconnect with God and one another.
Come and enjoy:
• A delicious and affordable family meal
• A completely free meal for new visitors
• Friendly people who are ready to welcome you
• Meaningful conversations around the table
• Prayer, encouragement, and spiritual support
• Men’s and women’s groups
• Youth worship and Bible teaching
• Children’s classes and activities
• Nursery and preschool care
• Opportunities to grow closer to God
• A community that celebrates victories and carries burdens together
You can come tired.
You can come after a difficult day.
You can come without knowing anyone.
You can come with questions.
You can come needing prayer.
You can come simply because cooking dinner feels like one responsibility too many this week.
Just come. There is a seat at the table for you.
VISITING FOR THE FIRST TIME?
We understand that walking into a church for the first time can feel intimidating.
You may wonder:
Will I know where to go?
Will I have anyone to sit with?
How will I find the right class?
Where do my children go?
Will anyone notice that I am new?
At FA Memphis, you do not have to figure everything out by yourself.
DR. LAYNE McDONALD IS HERE TO HELP
Text Dr. Layne before you arrive or find him when you enter the church.
He can personally help you:
• Find the Dining Room
• Receive your free first-time visitor meal
• Find the right class or ministry
• Check your children into their activities
• Locate the nursery or youth areas
• Meet ministry leaders
• Request prayer
• Get answers to your questions
• Meet friendly people in your age group or stage of life
Dr. Layne would even be honored to sit and eat with you, especially when it is your first visit.
You do not have to sit alone.
He can introduce you to some of the amazing people at FA Memphis, help you begin conversations, and make sure you feel welcomed, comfortable, and included.
We will not simply point down a hallway and leave you to find your own way.
We will walk with you.
ALREADY PART OF FA MEMPHIS?
Wednesday dinner is not only for first-time visitors.
It is also a wonderful opportunity for our regular church family to slow down, eat together, and know one another more deeply.
Sometimes we worship beside people every Sunday but never have enough time to hear their stories.
MDWK gives us the opportunity to change that.
Come and:
• Sit with someone you have not met
• Invite a new family to your table
• Learn someone’s name
• Hear someone’s story
• Celebrate an answered prayer
• Encourage someone going through a difficult season
• Strengthen friendships outside your usual group
• Help a visitor feel at home
• Build the kind of community that lasts beyond Sunday
Do not always sit with the same people.
Make room at your table.
Invite someone into the conversation.
A simple meal can become the beginning of a friendship, a prayer partnership, a mentoring relationship, or a life-changing connection.
Come fellowship, eat together, and get to know your church family even better.
SOMETHING FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY
After dinner, MDWK continues with opportunities for every member of your household.
MEN’S GROUP
Men gather to study Scripture, pray, worship, build friendships, and encourage one another through the realities of life.
It is a place where men can become stronger followers of Jesus, husbands, fathers, friends, leaders, and mentors.
WOMEN’S GROUP
Women from every generation and stage of life gather for biblical teaching, worship, prayer, friendship, encouragement, and meaningful conversation.
It is a welcoming place to grow in faith and discover strength through Christ-centered community.
YOUTH
Middle school and high school students can connect with caring leaders and other students through worship, Bible teaching, activities, prayer, and conversations that help them live out their faith.
CHILDREN’S CLASSES
Children enjoy safe, engaging, and age-appropriate activities designed to help them understand the Bible, build friendships, and discover how deeply God loves them.
NURSERY AND PRESCHOOL
Nursery and preschool care are available so parents can participate in MDWK groups while their youngest children enjoy a safe, loving, and welcoming environment.
PLAN YOUR WEDNESDAY VISIT
1. CHECK THE MENU
Visit:
www.famemphis.org/wednesday-menu
See what is being served and choose the Wednesday that sounds perfect for your family.
Of course, every Wednesday is a good Wednesday to avoid cooking dinner!
2. BRING THE FAMILY
Skip the drive-through.
Give the kitchen a night off.
Bring your children, teenagers, friends, neighbors, coworkers, or someone who could use encouragement.
New visitors eat free, and all other meals are only $7.
3. ARRIVE BETWEEN 5:00 AND 6:15 PM
Dinner is served from:
5:00 PM TO 6:15 PM
Arriving early gives you time to relax, enjoy your meal, meet people, ask questions, and get children checked into their activities before classes begin.
4. LET US KNOW YOU ARE NEW
When you arrive, tell a volunteer, Connection Team member, or Dr. Layne that it is your first visit.
We will help you receive your free meal and make sure you know exactly where to go.
5. LET US INTRODUCE YOU
You do not have to find a table by yourself.
Dr. Layne and the Connection Team can introduce you to friendly people, families, ministry leaders, and others who may be in a similar season of life.
Our goal is not only to feed you.
Our goal is to help you feel seen, welcomed, and connected.
6. JOIN A CLASS AT 6:30 PM
MDWK classes, groups, and ministries begin at:
6:30 PM
Dr. Layne can help you explore the available options and find the group that feels right for you.
You may try a group, meet the leaders, ask questions, and learn about other opportunities without pressure.
COME AS YOU ARE
Church is not a museum for perfect people.
It is a family of people learning to trust God, love one another, forgive, heal, grow, and keep moving forward.
At MDWK, you can:
• Celebrate an answered prayer
• Ask someone to pray with you
• Find encouragement during a difficult season
• Develop healthier friendships
• Grow stronger in your faith
• Help your children build a biblical foundation
• Give your teenager a positive community
• Learn practical truth from Scripture
• Laugh with people who care
• Help someone else feel less alone
• Worship, breathe, and begin again
You may arrive carrying the weight of the week.
Our prayer is that you leave reminded that God is with you and that there are people willing to walk beside you.
