We are losing too many of our neighbors.Suicide rates in Surry County and surrounding areas have climbed to heartbreaking levels. Behind every statistic is a father, a daughter, a friend, a coworker—someone this holler couldn't bear to lose.
But we are not helpless. And we are not alone.
We will gather to:
🎬 Screen "Facing Suicide" – The powerful PBS documentary that explores the silenced crisis of suicide in America and the ways communities are fighting back.
🎤 Hear from local experts – Mental health professionals and community leaders will share insights and answer your questions.
🤝 Learn how to respond – You don't need to be a therapist to save a life. We will equip you with practical tools to recognize warning signs, start conversations, and connect people to help.
💚 Stand together – Because the opposite of suicide is connection, and connection starts with showing up.
This event is for the ages of 9 and up.
We are glad you stayed! Let’s help other stay too!
