Step into the world of What Moves the Dead, where retired soldier Alex Easton travels to visit childhood friend Madeline Usher, who is dying in a decaying ancestral home. The surrounding land is overrun with fungal growths and possessed wildlife, including hares that continue to move after death. As Easton investigates, it becomes clear that a parasitic fungus infiltrates living beings, eventually controlling their bodies even after death. This fungal infestation explains the strange behavior of animals, Madeline’s deterioration, and the uncanny movements of corpses.
Whether you’re already a fan of novel or discovering What Moves the Dead for the first time, come ready to talk about the characters, fungal organisms, and what makes this story so horrifyingly compelling.
