Have you ever wanted to touch a cloud? Join local artist, Jess Stapf, for a beginner level needle felting workshop. In this 2 hour class you will be introduced to the fibers and tools used to make a needle felted cloud, using the same process the artist uses in her own work. This introduction to needle felting is unique because you will work off of a foam base to form your clouds, allowing you to work at a bigger scale than most needle felting. Several color palettes
will be available for you to experiment with and you will learn wool sculpting techniques to build up a rough shape, create density in the wool, define shapes, and even add swirls to your clouds. Following your creativity your cloud can be made more realistically or stylized using these techniques. This class is taught for beginners and you don't need any prior felting experience. Each student will take home a felted cloud that can be held in your hands.
