About this Event
Food insecurity isn't solved by any single organization — it's solved by a system. This panel brings together the people and institutions that make up that system: It Takes a Village to Feed One Child, a nonprofit on the front lines of hunger relief, Unique Dreams, a community partner doing the day-to-day work of reaching families, and WSFS, a funder investing in long-term solutions. Together, they’ll explore what it actually takes to build a resilient, coordinated response to hunger — from mutual aid and grassroots organizing to strategic philanthropy and cross-sector partnership.
Panelists will share how their organizations collaborate (and sometimes struggle to collaborate), what "care" looks like when it's operationalized at scale, and where the gaps still are — funding, capacity, trust, coordination. The conversation will move beyond the transactional model of charity toward a systems-level understanding of care: one where nonprofits, funders, and neighbors each play a distinct but interdependent role.
Moderated by Taryn Flood of St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, this session is for nonprofits, funders, impact investors, and others who seek a candid, on-the-ground look at what it means to build lasting infrastructure around a basic human need — and what other sectors can learn from how hunger relief networks operate as true systems of care.
