Fall Waterfowl Search with Steven Miller of Hoffmann Bird ClubSaturday, November 14th, 8:30AM at Richmond Pond
Fall is a great time in the Berkshires to observe a wide array of waterfowl. Join Steven at Richmond Pond in search of migrating and wintering ducks and non-ducks, and learn more about the history and importance of waterfowl migration in the Berkshires. All experience levels welcome! Please dress warmly for the weather, as is may be quite cool and it can be very breezy on the shore. This trip will have very limited walking, but please pack a folding chair as there may be extended periods of standing. Also bring water, any snacks, and gloves/handwarmers will also likely be welcome. Bring binoculars if you have them, but Steven will have a limited quantity available to borrow. Please note, waterfowl activity can be extremely variable this time of year, so depending on activity and conditions on Richmond, we may choose to visit a second location, TBD. Heavy/steady rain or snow, or extreme cold will cancel.
We will plan to cap off the trip with a stop at Bartlett's to warm up with some cider and doughnuts, because why not?
