This is the Shareable Version of Polk County Plant and Garden Lovers Fall Swap invitation for November 7th! If you are a member of the group, you only need to RSVP to one.The swap will be across the street from the College Heights United Methodist Church in the community park on South Blvd, Lakeland at 9 a.m.
🌺Please bring any garden-related items, except chemicals or invasive plants. Only bring what you are willing to share because this will not be a one-to-one swap. We also ask everyone to please bring something. Items you can bring: Plants, Cuttings, Seeds, Pots, Garden Books or Magazines, Tools, Compost, Worm Castings, Garden Decor, Bird Feeder, Wind Chimes, Potting Soil, etc. There is a plant swap stand at this location too so feel free to bring extras to leave at the stand. Also make sure your plants are pest-free and label your plants with correct names.
🌺Everything will be placed on tables and tarps labeled with categories, and we will be picking plants or items in rounds.
🌺If you have something really special you can always make prearranged swaps in the group. There will be a Promise Table for the prearranged swaps, so please put the recipient’s name on these items.
🌺 There will be a separate Wishlist post where you can list plants that you are seeking.
🌺Please arrive around 9 a.m. Volunteers or people bringing tables, please arrive by 8:30 a.m.
🌺Bringing a wagon, cart, or container is helpful for unloading and loading your plants.
🌺Check-in and get a numbered name tag.
🌺 Please note that the church now requires a rental fee for the event. To help defray this cost and other expenses associated with organizing the plant swap, the group administrators kindly ask each participant to donate $1. Please try to bring exact change or small bills. If we have enough participants, it will probably cover the next swap also.
🌺 Put your plants and items out on the tables and tarps per categories (Edibles, Natives, Ornamentals, Houseplants, Succulents/Cacti, Other, Seeds)
🌺 Do not take any plants (other than a Promised plant labeled with your name) until the swapping starts around 9:30 a.m.
🌺 Please leave the swap area after you make your selection, and stay out of the area if it is not your turn. Relax between rounds. Talk plants. Make new plant friends. Bring a chair and a drink, as needed.
🌺 No smoking, alcohol, or pets. Service animals only.
🌺 If you can bring a table by 8:30 a.m., please let us know in the Comments.
