Fall in Ink & Watercolour
Join Hamilton artist Matt Dampier for a relaxed outdoor sketching workshop at Chedoke Park, exploring the colours, textures and atmosphere of the fall landscape through ink and watercolour.
We’ll take inspiration from the Niagara Escarpment and surrounding landscape, learning how to quickly capture what we see using expressive ink lines and transparent watercolour. The focus is on observation, composition, colour and finding your own way of responding to the landscape, not creating a perfect, finished painting.
Whether you’re new to sketching or already have some experience, you’ll be guided through the process step by step. All materials are provided, so there’s no need to bring your own art supplies. Simply arrive, enjoy the outdoors and spend a few hours slowing down and putting the colours of autumn onto paper.
No previous experience is required, just bring yourself and dress for the weather.
