About this Event
Fake Arab Energy
Fake Arab Energy is a sharp and personal comedy hour about being Arab, being foreign, being over 40, and somehow ending up married to a German. Eman explores the contradictions of growing up with Middle Eastern expectations while building a life somewhere completely different: from family pressure and cultural identity to love, marriage, migration, and the question of whether you can ever be "Arab enough." Witty, dark, and unapologetically honest, Fake Arab Energy is about what happens when you stop trying to fit neatly into anyone's idea of who you should be.
About Eman Khallouf
Eman Khallouf is a Jordanian stand-up comedian who has spent most of her life somewhere between cultures, expectations, and other people's opinions of who she's supposed to be. Now over 40 and living in Germany, Eman brings a sharp, witty, and unapologetically personal perspective to everything from Arab family expectations and cultural identity to dating, marriage, migration, and getting older without necessarily getting wiser.
