Imagine more than one hundred people, gathered around small tables, sharing honest, deep conversations about our nation’s past, present and future. Talking about what matters, and actually listening to each other. People from some 20 faith traditions, or none at all, from new immigrants to third generation Scrantonians, from a few children under 12 to people in their 80s. People who leave feeling more hope than when they came. You can experience all that at our next Faith250 event, on Tuesday, September 15 at the Islamic Center of Scranton, 1509 W. Pass Ave. We'll be talking about Emma Lazarus' poem "The New Colossus," and what immigration means to us and our country today. For those coming at 7, you can also witness evening prayers and tour the mosque. Or you can come at 7:20 and sign in for the program that will start at 7:30 -- refreshments included.
