Preserving the Angel Creek Confluence
Dan Hoffman with Midnight Sun Fly Casters will share a short presentation and “Call to Action” to support efforts to preserve the confluence of Angel Creek with the upper Chena River. This area within the Chena River State Recreation Area is a private inholding with four parcels that lie just upstream of the Angel Rocks trailhead. The Angel Court cul-de-sac was constructed to access these lots.. Learn about how this area can be preserved.
Yukon Territory River Trips – Wind / Bonnet Plume / Peel Rivers
Dave Payer and John Schauer will share two short presentations on trips they took on remote rivers in the Peel River watershed of the Northern Yukon Territory in July, 2026. Both club members drove from from Fairbanks and flew in and out of Mayo, Yukon. Dave joined five friends to paddle the Wind and Peel Rivers in during early July. They spent 14 days and traveled 182 miles in this remote, roadless boreal and sub-arctic wilderness. In the next major drainage to the east, John and three friends rafted and canoed from Bonnet Plume lake, down the Bonnet Plume and the Peel Rivers. They experienced incredible mountain scenery and canyons with exciting whitewater rapids.
