La serie “Life Reimagined” (Vida reimaginada) de Alan Schaller reduce el mundo a sus formas esenciales: luz, sombra y geometría. Trabajando exclusivamente en blanco y negro, Schaller transforma momentos fugaces en composiciones que oscilan entre la realidad y la ilusión, donde la arquitectura se disuelve en formas y la presencia humana se vuelve casi espectral.
Estas imágenes no buscan documentar el mundo visible, sino revelar la tensión que se esconde en él. El alto contraste, los negros profundos y la precisión del encuadre crean escenas a la vez cinematográficas y minimalistas, que invitan a detenerse e interpretar cada imagen más allá de la superficie.

Alan Schaller es un fotógrafo radicado en Londres cuya obra se ha convertido en una referencia clave de la fotografía callejera contemporánea en blanco y negro.
Trabaja principalmente en entornos urbanos y sus imágenes se caracterizan por sus fuertes contrastes, sus composiciones gráficas y una especial atención a la luz y la forma. Su obra se ha expuesto internacionalmente y ha sido ampliamente publicada. Además, colabora regularmente con instituciones culturales, marcas y publicaciones.
Junto a su práctica artística, Alan ha desempeñado un papel clave en la creación de comunidades fotográficas a escala global. Es cofundador de Street Photography International y fundador de Irys, una red social y un ecosistema centrados en la fotografía, creados para apoyar a los fotógrafos, fomentar vínculos dentro de la comunidad y generar oportunidades más allá del entorno digital.

Alan Schaller’s “Life Reimagined” strips the world down to its essential forms: light, shadow, geometry. Working exclusively in black and white, Schaller transforms fleeting moments into compositions that hover between reality and illusion, where architecture dissolves into shape and human presence becomes almost spectral.
These images are less about documenting the visible world and more about revealing the emotional tension hidden within it. High contrast, deep blacks, and precise framing create scenes that feel both cinematic and minimal, inviting the viewer to slow down and interpret each frame beyond the surface.
Bio
Alan Schaller is a London-based photographer whose work has become a defining reference in contemporary black-and-white street photography.
Working primarily in urban environments, his images are known for their strong contrast, graphic composition, and careful attention to light and form. His work has been exhibited internationally, published widely, and he regularly collaborates with cultural institutions, brands, and publications.
Alongside his artistic practice, Alan has played a key role in building global photography communities. He is the co-founder of Street Photography International and the founder of Irys, a photography-first social media platform and ecosystem created to support photographers, foster meaningful connections, and create real-world opportunities beyond the feed.
