About this Event
You are invited to the Private View of The Light We Carry, a curated winter exhibition presented by Creations Atelier.
As the days shorten, cultures around the world turn to light. Candles, lanterns, fires and festivals have long carried meaning through the darkest months of the year. The Light We Carry brings together artists exploring light as a symbol of hope, resilience and connection, across painting, sculpture, photography, textiles, illustration, digital art, installation and mixed media.
The evening will be opened by Tabish Khan, art critic and editor at the Londonist.
Tabish is one of London’s best known art critics. He has been visual arts editor for Londonist since 2013 and writes a weekly top exhibitions column for FAD. He reviews hundreds of shows a year, from major blockbusters to the emerging art scene, and regularly judges art prizes and speaks about art in talks and on television. He came to art from a corporate background, after discovering it through London Underground posters, and he is committed to making art accessible to everyone.
The curator
The exhibition is curated by Lilith Ragana, a self-taught multimedia artist and curator born in Padova, Italy, and based in south London. Her practice draws on nature, imagination and her own spiritual journey, and she works with recycled and found materials as a matter of principle. She previously curated an open call and group exhibition for Week 45 Collective at 54 The Gallery, Mayfair.
