This autumn, Impressionist masterpieces are coming to the Nationalmusée um Fëschmaart. Works by Monet, Renoir, Cassatt and more from the celebrated Collection Rau for UNICEF, one of Europe's most significant private art collections, will be on view alongside gems from our own holdings.Offering a fresh perspective on Impressionism, the exhibition explores the movement that revolutionised art by capturing a world in the midst of profound change. It is a rare opportunity to discover, in Luxembourg, both renowned masters and lesser-known artists from this pivotal period in art history.
Assembled over four decades by philanthropist Dr. Gustav Rau and entrusted to UNICEF, this exceptional collection has been presented through major exhibitions across Europe. Now, audiences in Luxembourg can discover the very best of Impressionism at the Nationalmusée um Fëschmaart.
And the journey continues on the other side of the Rhine. From 27 September, the Arp Museum Bahnhof Rolandseck in Remagen, Germany, presents Talking Pictures 1400-1800, an exhibition of Old Master paintings bringing together works from the museum's own collection and from the MNAHA's collection. The perfect opportunity to extend the experience with a cross-border cultural weekend, just a few hours from Luxembourg.
We can't wait to welcome you and share this exceptional exhibition with you soon.
