EWA Photography Family Archive Workshop with Leyla Degan

Led by Leyla Degan, this hands-on workshop explores photography as a tool for historical counter-narrative and memory preservation. Focusing on family archives, participants will engage with their own photographs and visual materials, learning how to critically read, contextualise, and reframe historical images through an East African feminist lens.Participants are invited to bring 1–5 photographs from their family archive to be professionally digitised during the workshop.

Please also bring a USB flash drive with at least 20 GB of available space, which will be used to receive the digitised files in different formats.No professional photography or archival experience is required.
