About this Event
Situated at the intersection of housing exclusion and environmental crisis, this research explores how everyday inhabitation processes of ecological reserves are co-produced and transformed by contemporary conditions of socio-ecological marginalisation.
Lucas Lerchs, Postdoctoral fellow at DPU Bartlett Planning Unit, former member of Laboratory of Territorial Justice (LabJuta, UFABC, São Paulo).
Speaker:
Dr Lucas Lerchs. His work examines how situated lived experience of everyday inhabitation practices co‑produce and transform contested ecologies between marginalised communities and their local environments. He is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the DPU Bartlett Planning Unit, developing a project on extended displacement and the socio‑environmental dimension of eviction, and how recurrent forms of displacement transform the city.
Chair:
Dr Giovanna Astolfo.
The talk will be followed by a 30‑minute screening of a documentary filmed in the periphery of São Paulo.
