The Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History’s Planned Giving Advisory Council invites you to a free, two-hour, in-person public workshop covering the essential elements of estate and legacy planning. Our experienced presenters will explain these topics in straightforward, practical terms, including:
Wills and trusts
Durable powers of attorney for financial decisions
Healthcare directives and advance care planning
Different types of fiduciaries and the roles they play
Capacity and decision-making issues
Tax considerations
Legacy planning and charitable giving
Whether you are starting from scratch, have an estate plan that needs updating, or simply want to better understand your options, you’ll leave with information you can use and questions to discuss with your own professional advisors.
The formal program concludes at 4:00 PM. Attendees are invited to stay until 5:00 PM for an informal meet-and-greet with the presenters and other estate planning professionals.
