Step into a world where earth, sky, memory and imagination meet in a new group exhibition at Ellis House Arts Centre, Bayswater. Running from 19 February to 15 March, the exhibition brings together four artists, Sarah Eve, Graham Harvey, Debbie Noonan, and Tulin Yu, each offering a distinct interpretation of landscape through painting.
Spanning abstract realism, atmospheric expressionism, and luminous naturalism, the exhibition explores how light, colour, and emotion transform our connection to place. Visitors can expect works that feel both familiar and dreamlike, forming a visual dialogue between observation and imagination.
What to Expect
Each artist presents a unique perspective on the natural world:
• Sarah Eve presents textured, vibrant paintings inspired by her travels across Western Australia, from ancient rock formations to lush bushland. Her works celebrate the strength, vitality and the enduring yet ephemeral nature of the land.
• Graham Harvey uses layered colour, shape, and texture to create landscapes that evoke memory and emotion, encouraging viewers to recognise personal experiences within abstracted scenes.
• Debbie Noonan captures moments of stillness through serene, light-filled sunset paintings, reflecting on nature’s quiet power and the beauty of transition.
• Tulin Yu offers expressive realist works depicting tranquil riverside scenes, where light, wildlife and landscape coexist harmoniously in moments of calm observation.
Together, the works form a contemplative journey, highlighting the interplay between realism and abstraction and revealing how landscape can be both grounding and transformative.
