Join Esquire and L’Oréal Men Expert on Thursday 2 July at 7pm at The Hoxton (199-206 High Holborn, London WC1V 7BD) for an exclusive evening of conversation, culture and community.
Hosted by Catherine Hayward, Fashion Editor and Creative Director, the event brings together influential voices from sport, media and entertainment for a live discussion on masculinity, creativity, leadership and personal growth.
Guests can expect honest and insightful conversations from figures including Max Selwood; content creator, presenter and mental health advocate, Jonny Davies; endurance runner and digital creator known for his inspiring long-distance challenges and motivational storytelling and Zak Maoui; Style Director at Esquire UK and one of the leading voices in modern menswear and grooming.
Alongside the panel conversation, guests will enjoy a drinks, canapes and grooming and fragrance experiences from L’Oréal Men Expert throughout the evening.

MEET OUR SPEAKERS
CATHERINE HAYWARD
Catherine Hayward is a fashion editor, stylist and consultant with 25+ years in publishing and media.
A former Fashion Director of British Esquire, The Big Black Book and Fashion Editor of British GQ, she regularly contributes to Esquire, Mr Porter, The Hollywood Reporter, The Telegraph Magazine, Grazia and The Times Luxx Report. She was a member of the BFC’s menswear and NEWGEN Men committees and co-authored Man About Town, a glossy history hardback charting the evolution of men’s style in the 20th century.
She is also a mentor for the British Fashion Council Industry Mentor Hub. Her red carpet clients include Benedict Cumberbatch, Daniel Craig, Vicky McClure, Charles Edwards, Ciaran Hinds, Paapa Essiedu, Hugh Skinner, Jeremy Irvine, Stephen Merchant and Marcelino Sambe.
MAX SELWOOD
Max Selwood is a content creator, presenter, aspiring filmmaker, and passionate mental health advocate.
Known for his multifaceted approach, Max combines storytelling with a cinematic touch, creating content that captivates and connects on a deeper level. With his ability to seamlessly merge entertainment and advocacy, Max transforms personal and societal challenges into opportunities for engagement and awareness.
A passionate advocate for breaking mental health stigmas, Max draws from his own experiences with OCD and anxiety to foster open dialogues around mental wellbeing. His proactive approach brings him into direct interaction with the public, addressing sensitive topics with both empathy and a light-hearted touch. Through his online content and mental wellbeing consultancy, Max empowers others to embrace vulnerability and find joy in overcoming challenges, embodying his mission to make a meaningful impact in the mental health space.
JONNY DAVIES
Jonny Davies is an endurance runner, digital creator and mental health advocate known for taking on extreme running challenges and sharing his journey online through motivational storytelling.
He is regarded as one of the UK’s leading running influencers, recognised for blending endurance sport with open conversations around resilience, discipline, mindset and mental health. He is also an ambassador for the mental health charity CALM, supporting its mission to raise awareness and encourage conversations around mental wellbeing.
Davies first gained major attention after completing a challenge to run the full length of the London Underground network above ground, covering more than 350 miles in just 11 days to raise funds for CALM. He later pushed his limits further by running more than 900 kilometres between the capitals of the UK and Ireland in only 10 days. Rather than focusing solely on elite athletic performance, his content centres on personal growth, community and inspiring everyday.
ZAK MAOUI
Zak Maoui is a British fashion journalist and style expert, currently serving as Style Director at Esquire UK, where he oversees the magazine’s fashion and grooming editorial across both print and digital platforms.
He joined Esquire in late 2025 following a distinguished career in men’s fashion media, having previously held senior roles at Gentlemen’s Journal and British GQ. Zak’s work spans cultural commentary, trend analysis, high-profile interviews and styling direction, establishing him as a leading voice within contemporary menswear.
Based in London, he is widely recognised for his authoritative perspective on modern style and grooming.
