Please join us, along with key stakeholders from the NHS, local authorities, industry, academia and the VCSE sector for the Enabling Neighbourhood Health: Digital Innovation and Partnerships for Prevention and Proactive Care at Plymouth’s Tinside Lido from 9:30am-3:30pm on Wednesday 30 September.
Background and the aim of the day
There is an urgent need to shift the balance of care from expensive, reactive crisis intervention to prevention and early intervention. Digital technologies have tremendous potential to this end. However, this potential is not being realised, largely due a complex set of systemic, organisational and individual barriers to technological adoption. These include rules, processes and practices that not only stop bad things but prevent new things from happening; the perceived lack of ‘evidence’ about the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of technology-enabled neighbourhood health; and a failure to build the right relational and structural conditions that make the most of partnerships.
As we increasingly understand the barriers to digital acceleration, we are in a better position to identify plausible solutions. The aim of the day is to give system partners a chance to think about the art of the possible and to agree steps towards identifying a road map that helps us to bring about the organisational changes, resources and tasks required to accelerate digitally enabled neighbourhood health in the Peninsula.
We have deliberately kept this event small, attended by key stakeholders from the NHS, local authorities, industry, academia and the VCSE sector. Presentations will be brief, to give time for discussion, with poster presentations available to showcase innovative projects – past, present and proposed.
