This evening falls on Mother’s Day — a time that can hold many different emotions. For some, it brings gratitude and connection. For others, it may stir grief, longing, complexity, or unresolved feelings.
This Emotional Alchemy journey gently welcomes it all.
You’re invited to come exactly as you are — whether you’re honoring a mother, processing that relationship, or exploring your own capacity to nurture and care for yourself.
The sound journey offers a space to:
- soften into what’s present
- release what’s been held
- reconnect with your own inner source of support and compassion
Guided by Phoenyx, you’ll be invited into a meditative space where sound becomes a catalyst — gently (and at times powerfully) illuminating the emotional landscape. As layers begin to soften, you may find yourself releasing tension, accessing buried feelings, or simply dropping into a state of deep rest and openness.
Gongs are unique in their complexity, producing rich, multi-layered vibrations that can quiet the thinking mind and guide the body into theta brainwave states — associated with deep relaxation, emotional processing, and creative insight.
✨ This is not a passive listening experience.
It is a journey — one that may stir, move, and transform.
Unlike many sound baths, this immersion includes periods of strong, intense gong playing, intentionally used to help break up stagnant energy and support emotional release. At times, the experience may feel activating as the body processes and unwinds stored tension.
You are always encouraged to:
- follow your breath
- move, stretch, or ground as needed
- step outside if you need space
- honor your own pace and process
After a brief guided meditation, you’ll be guided through a ~50-minute gong journey featuring two powerful gongs and gentle Koshi chimes, followed by time for integration, journaling, and optional sharing.

Phoenyx Bio:
Phoenyx is the founder of For the Love of Gong and a Portland-based sound healer and facilitator of immersive gong journeys. Her work centers on creating powerful spaces for nervous system regulation, emotional release, and expanded states of awareness.
She completed Advanced Gong Sound Healing Certification through the International Gong Yoga Association under Gong Master Yogi Mehtab Benton in 2022 and works with both a 32" traditional Chinese Chau gong and a 24" Paiste Brilliant Symphonic gong.
A lifelong student of healing, consciousness, and human dynamics, Phoenyx continues to deepen her practice to offer experiences that support personal transformation, integration, and authentic connection.
