About this Event
This gripping psychological thriller, rumoured to have inspired Rebecca, follows vulnerable Lucy Entwhistle as she falls under the spell of Everard Wemyss, whose first wife, Vera, died in mysterious circumstances… Those of us who loved previous book club picks The Enchanted April and Elizabeth and her German Garden (also featured in Downton Abbey!), will find a darker side to von Arnim’s writing in this compelling exploration of love’s haunting, destructive power.
