About this Event
Join us for Embrace - A day of training designed for artists, facilitators, educators and practitioners who work with young people – particularly those in alternative provision or who have experienced trauma.
Rooted in kindness, care and practical action, this training goes beyond artform-specific practice. It focuses on how we show up, how we create safer spaces, and how we support young people with complex lived experiences to engage, express themselves and thrive.
Across the day, participants will explore trauma-informed approaches, healthy communication, and strategies for working with boys and young men around masculinity and identity. Through conversation, reflection and practical workshops, the training offers tools that are immediately useful – whether you work in dance, theatre, youth work, education or community settings.
The day brings together leading voices from across theatre, youth services and creative practice, alongside Protein’s inclusive, people-first approach. Participants will leave with greater confidence, deeper understanding, and practical resources to support young people with empathy, clarity and care.
This training is for anyone who works with young people – not just artists – and is particularly relevant for those engaging with alternative provision education, youth justice contexts, or communities affected by trauma.
Spaces are limited, so early booking is recommended.
