A house concert featuring Elijah Wald. Reservations and information at [email protected]
Elijah has been performing for more than fifty years, written numerous books, and his shows mix stories and songs from many traditions: blues, folk, ragtime, swing, country, Mexican corridos, Congolese acoustic guitar, the Bahamian style of Joseph Spence. A versatile guitarist and singer, he has performed and recorded with Dave Van Ronk, Eric Von Schmidt, and for five years as sideman for the Black string band master Howard Armstrong. He co-wrote Van Ronk's memoir and has written books on Josh White, Robert Johnson, Bob Dylan, and Jelly Roll Morton -- including the books that inspired the movies "Inside Llewyn Davis" and "A Complete Unknown." His concerts are an engaging and personal journey through multiple styles, making connections and reworking older traditions for new audiences.
