11:30 am - Explore Edmonton:
Avash Raut will share insights and key takeaways from their shift to using reusables at Sari Sari, a Filipino market and food festival here in Edmonton. This experience taught Explore Edmonton that reusables can work at festivals and events - join to learn more!
11:50 am - Reimagined Fabrics & Clothing Mending Workshop:
Michelle Closs will reveal the details of one of the largest polluting industries: Textiles. She will discuss the hurdles in textile recycling and what consumers can do to ensure that we are not part of the problem.
Michelle will also lead a mending workshop. Bring one item to mend or use the mending kit provided to learn Visible Mending techniques. You’ll leave with a mended garment or a patch to apply at home, and skills to repair your own clothes!
Getting to the event - Parking and Transit:
There is free parking available at the Reuse Centre at the front of the building. If taking the LRT, the Reuse Centre is a 10 minute walk from the Avonmore Station on the Valley Line, and close to many bus lines.
