KC Craine and Tin Compass create original music rooted in the Pacific Northwest, blending heartfelt storytelling, soulful melodies and a warm, organic sound shaped by folk, country, Zydeco and soul. The band’s distinctive lineup of accordion, violin, mandolin, bass, percussion and harmony vocals provides a rich, unexpected blend of organic textures and groove.
The result is a sound that's difficult to put in a box. Tin Compass is soulful, distinctive and refreshingly original, with a roots-based sound that moves well beyond the usual folk and Americana formula.
Tin Compass is led by Portland guitarist, songwriter and producer KC Craine, a finalist in the 2019 Great American Song Contest. KC’s songs have been used in national TV and film and his musical history stretches from the San Francisco scene of the late '80s to today's Portland music community.
But experiencing a Tin Compass show is more than just the music. It's a rich connection, with a shared goal of spreading joy, hope and relief through music, friends and shared moments.
Their new album, “It’s Not The Destination,” features ten original songs that capture the spirit of the band and its Northwest roots.
