A unique aspect of Duluth is that just a few miles from town (and even at choice locations within the city) the vast, unlit emptiness of the lake and surrounding countryside provide an amazingly dark and unobstructed night sky for viewing stars, planets, auroras, and other things astronomical. At the October Duluth 101, Duluth's Bob King—aka Astro Bob!—will reflect on a lifetime of being outside at night and the value of darkness. He'll also discuss how we can preserve the night sky — the last great wilderness—and share information about an exciting upcoming sky event.Gather at 5:30 pm, presentation starts at 6. Free event!
