Studiował jazz i improwizację w Konserwatorium Paryskim, muzykę klasyczną w Konserwatorium Aubervilliers-La Courneuve oraz pedagogikę muzyczną w Konserwatorium w Lyonie. Działa w wielu zespołach i projektach muzycznych, obejmujących tak różnorodne style, jak jazz z Umlaut Big Bandem i trio Un Poco Loco, eksperymentalną muzykę współczesną z Ensemble Hodos i ONCEIM, muzykę tradycyjną z zespołem Lumpeks i trio Batik, a także muzykę klasyczną i dawną w takich orkiestrach, jak Orkiestra Kameralna Ile-de-France, La cantate ducafé, czy Open Chamber Orchestra. Współpracował m.in.z Eliane Radigue, Christianem Marclayem, Adi Weinbergiem, Philipem Cornerem, czy Peterem Ablingerem. Podróżował po całej Europie, prezentując swoją muzykę na najbardziej prestiżowych scenach, w tym Filharmonii Paryskiej, Filharmonii Berlińskiej, Berlin Jazzfest, czy Biennale Sztuki Współczesnej w Wenecji. Jego dyskografia obejmuje ponad dwadzieścia wydawnictw dla takich wytwórni jak Umlaut Records, Shiin, Confront i La Volte, z których część zdobyła uznanie krytyków, w tym nagrodę Akademii Charlesa Cros, tytuł 'albumu miesiąca' magazynu „Jazz Magazine” oraz tytuł 'albumu roku' magazynu „Citizen Jazz”. Był zapraszany do prowadzenia kursów mistrzowskich w Regionalnym Konserwatorium w Poitiers, Departamentalnym Konserwatorium w Troyes, Regionalnym Konserwatorium w Lille, Regionalnym Konserwatorium na wyspie Reunion oraz w Pôle Sup 93.

YAMAGISHI/HYVÄRINEN (GARBAAGE) to japońsko-fiński duet zgłębiający muzykę z czasów, zanim zdefiniowano jej formalną nazwę i koncepcję. Pomiędzy instynktem a strukturą, gęstością a ciszą. Ostry, nasycony dźwięk gitary i wibrująca perkusja w dialogu trwającym od 2014 roku. Duet koncertował w Japonii, Francji, Hiszpanii, Szwecji, Finlandii, Estonii i Niemczech. Wydali m.in. „Live at Hošek” (Bokashi Records, 2025), „Love Hotel Blues” z Sergio Castrillónem (Yabuki Records, 2021), „Usva” z Jone Takamäkim (Rypistellyt levyt, 2016). Współpracowali m.in. z Morishige Yasumune, Setsuhi Shiraishi, Rieko Okuda i Antti Virtaranta.

We will start the new concert season in the company of excellent musicians from France, Finland and Japan. Acoustic and electro-acoustic music for double bass, electric guitar and percussion. Focused, organic and open to experimentation.

Sébastien Beliah - double bassist, composer. He studied jazz and improvisation at the Paris Conservatoire, classical music at the Aubervilliers-La Courneuve Conservatoire and music pedagogy at the Lyon Conservatoire. He is active in many ensembles and musical projects, covering styles as diverse as jazz with the Umlaut Big Band and the trio Un Poco Loco, experimental contemporary music with Ensemble Hodos and ONCEIM, traditional music with the band Lumpeks and the trio Batik, and classical and early music in orchestras such as the Ile-de-France Chamber Orchestra, La cantate ducafé, and the Open Chamber Orchestra. He has collaborated with Eliane Radigue, Christian Marclay, Adi Weinberg, Philip Corner and Peter Ablinger, among others. He has travelled all over Europe, presenting his music on some of the most prestigious stages, including the Paris Philharmonic, Berlin Philharmonic, Berlin Jazzfest, and the Venice Biennale of Contemporary Art. His discography includes more than twenty releases for labels such as Umlaut Records, Shiin, Confront and La Volte, some of which have won critical acclaim, including the Charles Cros Academy Award, the title of 'album of the month' by Jazz Magazine and the title of 'album of the year' by Citizen Jazz magazine. He has been invited to give masterclasses at the Regional Conservatoire of Poitiers, the Departmental Conservatoire of Troyes, the Regional Conservatoire of Lille, the Regional Conservatoire of Reunion Island and the Pôle Sup 93.
