About this Event
With hits like "Proud Mary", "Down on the Corner" and "Have You Ever Seen The Rain?" Creedence Clearwater Revival packed a lot of great music into just four tempestuous years as a working band. Dr. Mike Daley Presents: The Creedence Clearwater Revival Story is a concert and talk celebrating their music, featuring renowned music historian Dr. Mike Daley on guitar and vocals, Dean Drouillard on guitar, Adam Warner on drums and vocals, Mike Ferfolia on bass and vocals, and Jill Daley on piano and violin.
Led by John Fogerty, CCR bucked the psychedelic musical trends of the late 60s with tight, catchy rock and roll songs that were danceable and memorable. After the band's acrimonious split, Fogerty struggled for years to reclaim his rights to the band's music. He ultimately prevailed, by which time CCR had entered the pantheon of classic rock bands, with a lasting multigenerational appeal. The latest in a monthly series that has included sold-out lecture-concerts on the Beatles, Billy Joel, Gordon Lightfoot, Tina Turner and the Beach Boys, Dr. Mike Daley Presents: The Creedence Clearwater Revival Story is a must-see for any music fan.
Dr. Mike Daley is a musician, musicologist and author known across the GTA for his lectures and performances. Dean Drouillard (The Rolling Stones Story, The David Bowie Story) is a veteran guitarist with extensive touring and recording credits. Mike Ferfolia (The Stevie Wonder Story, The Beach Boys Story) is a sought-after bassist and vocalist. Adam Warner (The Beatles Story, the Story of the Band) is a multi-talented drummer and singer with innumerable live and studio credits, and Jill Daley (all shows) is manager of musicians at Canada's National Ballet School and Musician-In-Residence at Church of the Redeemer.
Church of the Redeemer is a spacious and comfortable (cushioned chairs, not pews) 1879 church with excellent sightlines and acoustics. It is conveniently located in Yorkville, close to Bay and Museum subway stations, ample parking and fine restaurants.
