Doug Duffey and B.A.D.D. are a North Louisiana based group serving up an original blend of Louisiana blues, Delta soul, Bayou funk and what they call “Swampedelic” music. Frontman Doug Duffey is a Monroe native, singer, songwriter and pianist whose career spans more than five decades. A Louisiana Hall of Fame and National Blues Hall of Fame inductee, Duffey has written for or recorded with artists including George Clinton, Funkadelic, Rare Earth and Marcia Ball. Together, Doug Duffey and B.A.D.D. bring Louisiana’s musical roots to life with soulful vocals, funky grooves and high energy performances.
Born and raised in El Dorado, Arkansas, Amy Allen has been surrounded by music her entire life. She learned the rules of music from her father, a minister of music and junior high choir director. But she discovered her love of music from her grandmother, whose weekly blues and rock’n’roll listening sessions were formative to her childhood. Amy began working professionally as a musician at the tender age of fourteen, performing with bands in Arkansas, Texas, and Louisiana. After she graduated from high school and college, Amy held multiple jobs, all of which allowed her to work with her true love of music. Amy’s bands have opened for country artists such as John Conlee, Patty Loveless and Brooks & Dunn. She has performed as a solo artist at the Statue of Liberty, the White House, Ryman Auditorium, Disney’s Magic Kingdom, Vanderbilt University, and hundreds of bars and venues. Amy has performed and produced various shows, including one about the history of the Mississippi Delta Blues and its influence on other music genres. During a ten-year residence in Nashville, Tennessee, where she performed in various bands and worked as a studio vocalist, Amy recorded her first full-length album, Night Vision (2012), and her sophomore Americana album, Someday is Today (2013).
Since then, Amy has returned to her roots and found herself at home with the Blues. In 2021, Amy opened The Big Muddy Inn and Blues Room, a blues-inspired boutique hotel and listening room in Natchez, Mississippi, where Amy is the resident musician.
