Double Reed Ensemble Day

We are delighted to invite oboists and bassoonists aged 7 to 16 to take part in a Double Reed Ensemble Day - a relaxed, inclusive and enjoyable day of ensemble playing, led by Alison Teale with guest tutors.
The Double Reed Ensemble Day offers players of all abilities the opportunity to make music together in a supportive and creative environment. The focus of the day is on ensemble playing, helping students to build confidence, listening skills, and musical imagination through collaborative music‑making.
The day will conclude with an informal end‑of‑day concert, giving participants the chance to share what they have worked on during the sessions.
The event is open to oboists and bassoonists aged 7 to 16. All abilities welcome, with parts to suit every player and opportunities to take on more challenging repertoire.
The Guildhall café will be open throughout the day, with trade stands available in the Silk Street foyer, and short talks for parents covering topics such as supporting practice at home and basic instrument and reed care.
Parents and carers are warmly welcome to attend and stay on the day. You can also leave your child with us, if you prefer, and for this we ask for a safeguarding contribution of £10 per child to cover the costs of additional staff.
