Dorothy Cotton Jubilee Singers Present “Gratefulness”
Sunday, November 1, 2026 | Ford Hall, Ithaca College
The Dorothy Cotton Jubilee Singers invite you to a moving musical celebration of gratefulness, hope, and resilience, exploring the things we can be thankful for even in times of despair and uncertainty.
Through the powerful legacy of African American spirituals, created by enslaved people whose music gave voice to their struggles, suffering, and determination to persevere, the concert honors the enduring human spirit and the power of music to sustain us through difficult times.
The concert will also serve as a prelude to the upcoming election, honoring the legacy of Dorothy Cotton, whose lifelong work in the Civil Rights Movement focused on voter education, voter registration, and empowering people to exercise their right to vote. We carry her legacy forward through music and the powerful message of “Freedom,” reminding us that the struggle for justice, equality, and human dignity continues.
Join us for an inspiring afternoon of music, reflection, and gratitude as we celebrate the resilience of the human spirit and the enduring power of freedom.
The concert is free and open to the public. Donations are encouraged.
